With the recent accumulation of snow in our parking lots, what is a busy and difficult situation to manage at the best of times has become even more challenging.
It is important to remember that the parking lot by the front doors of the school is used for visiting OCDSB staff and nursery school parents parking and taking their children into the school. We know there can be a large volume of traffic at the front of the school with parents dropping students off in the morning and that this parking lot provides easy access to the school yard. An increasing number of parents are parking, getting out and delivering students to the edge of the yard, meaning that nursery school and OCDSB staff using the parking lot are also trying to navigate around pedestrians. For the safety of all students, parents, nursery school children and parents as well as OCDSB staff we ask you to please use the kiss and ride lane adjacent to the bus lanes to drop off students in the morning. There is school staff there to greet and supervise the students crossing the bus lane.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in keeping all of us safe.

Yes, we have been noticing on our walk home that cars have been parking way up past the yellow line, one day we counted 5 cars across the access to the pedestrian path. Luckily, we haven’t encountered too many of them trying to drive in and out when we are walking, but it does seem unsafe.
